Salute to Veterans

Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Unlike Memorial Day, Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans—living or dead—but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.

Our British ally’s Commonwealth of Nations observes Remembrance Day, also referred to as “Poppy Day”.  The message: Lest we Forget.

The American Legion distributes the poppies. For the most part, the paper or plastic flowers are made by our very own veterans.

We thought today was the ideal time to share our Top 5 Reasons to salute Veterans.
